2018-19 Association Rankings

MYHockey Rankings (MHR) is thrilled to release our first edition of 2018-19 Association Rankings this Wednesday, October 10th. Following their release on October 10th, MHR will update the Association Rankings every Wednesday morning throughout the season.

Like everything we do, MHR developed the Association Rankings with the youth hockey community in mind. The Association Rankings align with MHR’s core mission of using analytics and our platform in the youth hockey community to provide hockey families with resources that can positively impact player development. As the line between Tier 1 (AAA) and Tier 2 (AA) teams/organizations remains ever blurry, the Association Rankings enables the youth hockey community to sort through the blurriness at the association level and make a more informed decision regarding their preferred player development path.  The top 5 teams for each Association Ranking category are available to the general public. The full Association Ranking list is available to MYHockey members only.

Requirements to qualify for the Association Rankings are listed below! Please note that many associations don't have enough qualifying teams and are therefore omitted from the rankings until they meet the minimum number of team requirement.

USA Youth – Associations must have at least 2 peewee teams and 2 bantam teams in MYHockey to qualify for the USA Youth rankings. A squirt team is optional to help associations in non-traditional hockey markets qualify for the rankings. Associations with at least 1 squirt team will have their top squirt team included. In addition, individual teams must have a minimum of 5 game scores in MYHockey in order to be eligible for their association. If more than 1 squirt team or 2 peewee/bantam teams in an association are eligible, MHR will only use the top 2 teams at that specific age level, and only the top team at squirts, to calculate the association’s overall rating.

USA Midget – Associations must have 2 midget teams in MYHockey to qualify for the USA Midget rankings. In addition, individual teams must have a minimum of 5 game scores in MYHockey in order to be eligible for their association. If more than 2 midget teams in an association are eligible, MHR will only use the top 2 midget teams to calculate the association’s overall rating.

USA Girls – Associations must have 1 midget team, 1 bantam team and 1 peewee team in MYHockey to qualify for the USA Girls rankings. In addition, individual teams must have a minimum of 5 game scores in MYHockey in order to be eligible for their association. If more than 1 team in an association is eligible at a specific age level, MHR will only use the top team at that specific age level to calculate the association’s overall rating.

Ontario Youth – Associations must have 1 midget team, 2 bantam teams, 2 peewee teams and 2 squirt teams in MYHockey to qualify for the Ontario Youth rankings. In addition, individual teams must have a minimum of 5 game scores in MYHockey in order to be eligible for their association. If more than 1 midget team or 2 squirt/peewee/bantam teams in an association are eligible, MHR will only use the top 2 teams at that specific age level, and only the top team at midgets, to calculate the association’s overall rating.

Ontario Girls – Associations must have 1 midget/intermediate team, 1 bantam team and 1 peewee team in MYHockey to qualify for the Ontario Girls rankings. In addition, individual teams must have a minimum of 5 game scores in MYHockey in order to be eligible for their association.
