MHR Peak Performers for October 2025
We are proud to present our first MYHockey Rankings Peak Performers of the 2025-26 hockey season!
This month we received the most Peak Performer nominations since we began running this feature several years ago. Each candidate was more than worthy, and although we couldn’t select all of them, for the first time ever we are recognizing five players.

Our first October Peak Performer is Alex McGee of Piedmont Predators 12U Sky in Virginia. Alex scored five goals, including a penalty-shot goal that is in the Peak Performer video at the link above, and dished out an assist in an 8-6 victory over the Frederick Freeze Oct. 18. Alex is a multi-sport athlete who brings leadership, energy and a strong work ethic to the ice on every shift.
In another MHR Peak Performer first, we are honoring a pair of linemates from Oakville Hornets Girls U11 AA. Mya Kneeland and Brinley Barnes skate on the same line for the second-ranked team in Ontario. Through October, they had combined for 51 goals and 49 assists to lead the team to a 15-0-1 record that included a pair of tournament championships. Brinley had 35 goals and 13 assists, while Mya posted 16 goals and 36 helpers.
Carter Caruso of Winnetka Warriors 12U AA in Illinois is our third honoree. He posted 30 points in 11 games to lead the 12U Central States Developmental Hockey League League in scoring. Carter recorded 16 goals and 14 assists in those 11 contests. Check out the Peak Performers video to see his 3-on-5 shorthanded breakaway goal.
Our fourth Peak Performer for October is Matti Lappalainen of Soo Jr. Greyhounds U15 AAA in Ontario. Matti compiled 13 goals and 10 assists in11 October contests. Those totals included a pair of hat tricks and two game-winning goals. He also produced five goals and five assists in five Canadiens Cup tournament games.
And last, but not least, we have our fifth Peak Performer, Brian Childress from Mid-Hudson Polar Bears U10 AA in Newburgh, N.Y. A complete player and versatile athlete, Brian does whatever is asked of him and has played center, left wing and defense this season. His speed, skill, agility and hockey IQ have allowed him to pile up 53 points in the season’s first two months.
Congratulations to our five October Peak Performers.
Nominate Your Team’s Peak Performer
To have a player on your team considered to be a Peak Performer, please follow the guidelines outlined below when submitting candidates:
- Email the nomination to scott@myhockeyrankings.com.
- Include the player’s name, the team’s name, the age group and any pertinent statistical or other information that would support the nomination.
- Attach 30-45 seconds of highlights from the player’s performance or performances. This can be several plays included on one attached video file or a few different plays on several different attached video files.
- Keeping the natural rink sound on the video is fine, but please DO NOT include music or other special effects such as slow motion, inserted graphics, logos, etc. If you are pulling the clip from a service such as LiveBarn and their logo is on the video somewhere, that is acceptable.
- Please DO NOT send a link to social media posts or other videos that are posted online unless the link is to an actual downloadable file.
- We would prefer to receive nominations from coaches or managers and not parents. If a parent submits a nominee, we may request to see a team statistics sheet, scoresheets or similar evidence to support and verify the nomination.
Please understand that because of the volume of emails we receive, it is not possible for us to reply to the submission emails. There also is no way that we can spend time searching for the information or video we have requested if it is not included with the email.
The only way to ensure consideration is to follow the procedure outlined above.
Also, there is no need to continue submitting nominations for the same player throughout the season once he or she is honored. A player will not be selected as a Peak Performer more than once. Players who have not been honored in past years also will receive priority over those who would be repeat Peak Performers.
We look forward to receiving your nominations and continuing to honor more players than ever from all over North America this season!
