2010-11 Week#2 Rankings Released With Notes

Week #2 Rankings have been released. A couple of quick thoughts...

First, the rankings continue to improve with another 5000 games added to the system this past week, but a large number of ranking pools still do not have teams with enough games to justify turning on the rankings. When the rankings are "turned on" it simply means that the link found on the home page or the rankings page has been bolded and the teams are ranked by default. Non-bolded links are going to display teams in a listing sorted alphabetically where all teams make the list. There is a toggle at the top of every rankings page.

Second, many of the rankings have added 5, 15 or 50 teams. As a result, most teams have moved down in the rankings this week, despite what may have happened on the ice. Over the next month or so, as more and more teams are rapidly added to the rankings, this is a normal occurrence. No need to read too much into it.

Also note that Junior and College rankings are still not release and may need some updates before they go live. Most junior rankings are expected to go live next week (where volunteers are entering games). ACHA college may also be able to go live, but NCAA D1 and D3 will be weeks out yet.

Enjoy.
